Are you an outstanding graduate student, undergraduate, or very recent graduate from a Canadian university who wants to understand the role Canadians played in the liberation of Europe in the World Wars?
This year we are offering two study tours:

Western Front, Belgium, the Netherlands
Professors Geoff Hayes (University of Waterloo), Stephen Connor and Anna Pearson (Nipissing) will visit Ypres, the Somme, Vimy Ridge, Belgium and the Netherlands to mark Victory in Europe and the Liberation of the Netherlands.

Western Front, Dieppe, Normandy
Professors Graham Broad (Kings College), Caroline d’Amours (RMCC), and Amy Shaw (Lethbridge) will explore Ypres, the Somme, Vimy Ridge, Dieppe and Normandy to mark the 78th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy.
The Foundation offers a bursary to each successful applicant, but requires them to contribute $1250 towards the cost of the tour, which includes air and ground travel from Toronto, accommodation, meals, and study materials. Travel to and from Toronto is not covered and must be defrayed by the applicant.
Students will be expected to prepare for the trip, lead on-site discussions, including a short biography of a Canadian soldier buried or memorialized along our route. They will also blog their experiences.
Candidates will have to submit two letters of reference (at least one from a professor), transcripts (unofficial are acceptable) and complete the registration form.
Applications for this year’s tour are due Friday, 3 March 2023.
